Background

Mukesh Ambani chairs and runs Reliance Industries ($125B revenue), which has interests in petrochemicals, oil and gas, telecom, retail, media, and financial services. Reliance was founded by his late father Dhirubhai Ambani, a yarn trader, in 1966 as a small textile manufacturer. After his father's death in 2002, Mukesh and his younger brother Anil divided the family empire. Mukesh built Reliance into India's most valuable company through aggressive expansion into telecom (Jio) and retail.
